Two Ways to Connect
- API-Mode Smart Bot
- Choose this route when creating a WeCom smart bot to connect to Dingdang. You need access to create and configure the bot and obtain its Bot ID and Secret, which you then enter in Dingdang. Ask your organization's administrator for help if you lack that access.
- Personal WeCom Account
- This separate option supports private and group chats, WeChat contacts, and external WeCom groups. It requires activation and has an additional monthly credit charge.
For external customer groups, check the personal-account option first. Personal or multi-user use in the API bot settings describes who may use that bot; it is different from personal WeCom account sign-in and does not establish the same external-group support.
What You Pay For
Dingdang costs $20 per bot each month. Each bot includes 20K App calls each month; personal WeCom sign-in consumes 20 additional credits per bot each month.
At the current USD top-up list rate, one credit represents US$1 of balance, so the additional 20 credits for personal WeCom sign-in represent US$20 of balance each month. The 20K allowance means 20,000 App calls, not chat messages; one task can make several calls. Budget separately for the base subscription, additional service usage, and third-party accounts.
Pricing and UsageConnect an API-Mode Bot
In WeCom Workbench, open Smart Bot and use Manual Creation → API Mode Creation. Select a long connection, save the bot, then enter its Bot ID and Secret in Dingdang Console under the intended bot's WeCom settings.

Business Records Need Their Own Connection
The WeCom bot credentials connect the conversation. To summarize CRM records or project documents, authorize the relevant business App as well. Review internal notes and recipients before asking for a customer-group update.
